From the Trion Fire Department

*PRESS RELEASE*

Approximately 4:30 A.M., a multi-agency response team, including Engine 12-R, Engine 9, Engine 4, Artium Health Floyd EMS, and the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office, was dispatched to the area of Mountain View Road in Trion to respond to a residential structure fire. Upon arrival, Engine 12-R encountered heavy fire and smoke emanating from the A-Side of the structure. A fire attack team was quickly deployed to extinguish the fire, and the blaze was subsequently brought under control. The fire has resulted in the displacement of a family of four from their residence, and the Red Cross has been notified to provide assistance. One male subject was transported to the Chattooga County ER by Artium Health Floyd EMS for treatment of burns and smoke inhalation and has since been transferred to the Wellstar Cobb Medical Center burn unit; no further updates are available at this time.
