An extensive narcotics investigation culminated in a major bust earlier this week, resulting in the seizure of a significant amount of methamphetamine and fentanyl.
According to Sheriff Jeff Shaver, investigators and deputies executed a search warrant at a residence on Cedar Bluff Road. During the search, law enforcement uncovered a large quantity of illicit drugs, including fentanyl and methamphetamine.

As a result of the operation, Danny Joe Segers, a 47-year-old resident of Centre, was arrested and charged with:
- Trafficking Fentanyl
- Trafficking Methamphetamine
- Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (x2)
- Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree
- Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (x2)
“This investigation highlights our ongoing commitment to combat drug trafficking and keep our community safe from the dangers of fentanyl and other harmful substances,” said Sheriff Shaver. “We will continue to work diligently to disrupt the flow of illegal narcotics into our area and hold those responsible accountable.”
Segers is currently being held in the Cherokee County Detention Center.
