Collinsville baseball rallies past Spring Garden in eight innings

COLLINSVILLE – The Collinsville Panthers rallied for a pair of runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to take a 2-1 baseball win over visiting Spring Garden on Friday.

Shaun Stewart had the lone hit for Collinsville (3-0). Mason McAteer and Gavin Lang both walked and scored a run apiece. Jeremiah Killian walked twice and drove in a run. Jameson Coker earned a walk and had a RBI.

Will Edmondson earned the win after working 2/3 of an inning with a walk. Dawson Ellzey suffered the loss for Spring Garden (0-2) after walking four and giving up two earned runs.

Spring Garden scored its run in the top of the eighth to take a 1-0 lead before Collinsville rallied. The visiting Panthers scattered five hits from Jonathan Baker, Zane Edwards, Carson Bostick, John Welsh and Noah Barber. Barber drove in Welsh.

Hayes Garmon drew a pair of walks. Jake Welsh earned a walk.

Spring Garden looks to rebound at Cedar Bluff this morning at 10 a.m. Collinsville is at Plainview at 11 a.m.
