The Collinsville Panthers opened their baseball on Monday and Tuesday against Section and Plainview respectively. The Panthers blanked Section in three innings on Monday 15-0, then scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take an 8-7 decision over Plainview.
In the win over Section, Mason McAteer went 2-for-2 with a double, two runs and three RBIs. Gavin Lang was 1-for-2 with a double, a walk, two runs and a RBI. Jeremiah Killian collected a triple, a walk, a run and three RBIs. Justin Pruitt posted a pair of hits with a walk, a run and a RBI. Jake Middlebrooks managed a hit, a walk and a run. Shaun Stewart contributed a hit, a walk, a run and two RBIs.
Jameson Coker walked twice, scored twice and had a RBI. Sylas Adams had a walk, a run and three RBIs. Kyler Beene scored twice.
Lang picked up the win after working two innings of no-hit ball. He walked two and struck out four.
McAteer worked an inning of no-hit ball with a strikeout.
In the win over Plainview, McAteer was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate with two RBIs. Middlebrooks went 1-for-2 with a double, a walk, a run and two RBIs. Adams added a hit, a run and a RBI. Pruitt had a hit and drove in two runs. Will Edmondson had a hit and scored a run.
Coker walked three times and scored three runs. Killian walked twice. Rajuess Rooks and Beene scored a run apiece.
Zach Clanton picked up the win after working 3 1/3 innings. He gave up two earned runs on three hits with four walks and six strikeouts. Edmondson, Killian and Coker each tossed an inning.
Collinsville is scheduled to host Spring Garden on Friday at 4:30 p.m.
