Due to the winter weather advisory issued by the National Weather Service and the potential for hazardous travel conditions, several schools and organizations across the WEIS coverage area have announced closings or delays for Wednesday, Feb. 19. See the current list below:

School Closings & Delays

Alabama:

Cherokee County Schools: 2-hour delay.

Albertville City Schools: 2-hour delay.

Boaz City Schools: 2-hour delay.

Cornerstone Christian Academy: 2-hour delay.

DeKalb County Schools: 2-hour delay.

Etowah County Schools: 2-hour delay.

Fort Payne City Schools: 2-hour delay.

Gadsden City Schools: 2-hour delay.

Gadsden State Community College: 2-hour delay; faculty & staff report at 9:30 a.m., classes will begin at 10 a.m.

Marshall County Schools: 2-hour delay.

Northeast Alabama Community College: 2-hour delay.

Westbrook Christian School: 2-hour delay.

Georgia:

Chattooga County Schools: Learn from Home Day; ALL employees are to report on a 3-hour delay if travel is safe from their home.

Georgia Northwestern Technical College: All campuses closed.

Rome City Schools: Independent Learning Day.

NOTE: Floyd County Schools were already out for winter break.

Other Closings & Delays

Buttram Senior Center: closed.

CED Mental Health (Cherokee, DeKalb, and Etowah County offices): 1-hour delay.
