According to the Alabama Fire College, the Rainbow City Fire Department has the highest ranking of Certifications per Firefighter in the State of Alabama.

“RBCFD is proud to announce that through the Alabama Fire College we are the highest ranking department in the state of Alabama for certifications per firefighter. We strive to provide elite firefighters for our community. Thank you to our Mayor and city council for allowing us to send out personnel to these classes to obtain certification and bring back the knowledge to our city! Also thank you to our personnel for being eager and going to these classes”

We had the chance to talk with RBC Mayor Joe Taylor about the accomplishment. Mayor Taylor, said he was proud of the Department, that it was the 3rd or 4th year they have been recognized for this. It said it was something that is hard to do, due to the amount of individual certifications there are. Despite that he said he feels it is “Something we have to do, to be ready for those very specific types of emergencies.” The City of Rainbow City has been listed as one of the safest cities in the state to live in.
