Mary June Agan, age 77, of Centre, AL, passed away on February 10,
2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. _
_She was born on March 16, 1947, in Summerville, Georgia, and was the
daughter of the late Mr. Benjamin Fred Jennings and Mrs. Winnie Vaughn
Jennings. Mary was a proud graduate of Cedar Bluff High School, where
she was proudly selected as homecoming queen, twice. This accomplishment
reflected not only her grace and charm but also the deep affection her
peers held for her, a sentiment that would follow her throughout her
lifetime. As a wonderful homemaker, Mary dedicated herself to creating a
nurturing environment for her family. She loved her family dearly, and
her grandchildren held a particularly special place in her heart. Her
home was a haven filled with laughter, love, and countless memories that
her family will treasure forever. Known for her kind and welcoming
personality, Mary was an individual who always made those around her
feel valued and respected. She had a passion for roses and a good slice
of cheesecake, simple pleasures that brought her joy and comfort in her
everyday life. _
_In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother,
Buddy Cagle; sister-in-laws: Joyce Cromer and Sadie Keener and her two
brother-in-laws: Milford Agan and Calvin Agan. _
Mary is survived by her beloved husband of 58 wonderful years, W.L.
Agan of Centre, AL; son, Frankie Agan and his wife Kim of Rome, GA;
daughter, Vickie Blalock of Rome, GA; sister, Betty Edmondson and her
husband, Jerry; sister-in-laws: Becky Smith and her husband, Frankie and
Hope Nelson; grandchildren: Haley Dobbs, Robert Blalock, Rebecca Terry,
Kristopher Easterwood and Andrew Morgan and 10 great grandchildren.
Several loving nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. _
Funeral Services to honor and celebrate the life of Mrs. Mary June Agan
will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of
Salmon Funeral Home with Preacher Lynn Cabaniss officiating. Interment
will follow the service at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. _
Serving as pallbearers will be the following gentlemen: Robert Blalock,
Ken Freeman, Kristopher Easterwood, Dylan Walker, Andrew Morgan and
Jesse Dobbs. _
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Friday, February
14, 2025 from 11:00 AM until the service begins at 1:00 PM. _
Mary’s legacy will be remembered through her unwavering devotion to her
family and the loving mark she left on everyone she met. Her spirit will
continue to live on in the hearts of her loved ones, who are grateful
for the time they had with her and although heartbroken that she is no
longer here on earth , they find peace in knowing she is with her Lord
and Savior, Jesus Christ and is no longer suffering. _
