Scotty McCreery has enlisted Grammy-winning Christian artist Jason Crabb for a duet rendition of “Red Letter Blueprint.”
The faith-based number encourages listeners to turn to God and the Bible during hard times, even if they’ve been far away from prayer, because “ain’t it just like Jesus to keep his arms wide open?”
“Where can you go when you ain’t getting nowhere?/ Every turn is a dead-end road/ The rain starts to fall, and you’re so lost out there/ Really only one place I know/ When your whole world falls to pieces/ And you don’t know how to build it back/ There’s a red letter blueprint in King James black,” Scotty and Jason sing in the chorus.
“Jason’s voice is just out of this world powerful,” Scotty says in a statement. “When he sings, you can feel the emotion in every note and the belief in every word. I’m a fan, and it’s an honor to have him sing this song with me.”
“I’m so excited to be joining my friend Scotty on such an incredible song as ‘Red Letter Blueprint,'” Jason adds. “His talent is beyond compare, and he’s one of the greatest guys I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. It’s an honor to be singing alongside him, and I can’t wait to play this song live for everyone next week on the Grand Ole Opry stage.”
Scotty and Jason are set to perform at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville on Tuesday. Tickets are available now at opry.com.
You can find the standard version of “Red Letter Blueprint” on Scotty’s latest album, Rise & Fall. The project’s second single, “Fall of Summer,” is now in the top 30 of the country charts.
