The Cherokee Sheriff’s department arrested former corrections officer Jerry Green on Friday, following an internal investigation that determined he had used his position for personal gain and committed theft of property in the fourth degree. Mr. Green was immediately terminated from his employment upon the conclusion of the investigation.
Sheriff Jeff Shaver stated, “This is extremely disappointing as public servants, we take an oath to uphold the law, and I expect every member of my staff to work with integrity. We will not tolerate anything less.” Mr. Green was booked into the Cherokee County Detention Center following his arrest.
