GERALDINE – The Collinsville Panthers gave Fyffe a game Monday night in the Class 3A, Area 13 basketball tournament at Geraldine, but they ultimately fell short by the final of 50-44 to end their season.

Jake Middlebrooks led the Panthers with 14 points. Sylas Adams added eight points. Gavin Lang and Mason McAteer both finished with seven points.

Fyffe led 13-12 at the end of the first quarter and built a 29-21 edge at halftime. Collinsville cut Fyffe’s lead to four at the end of the third quarter 39-35.

Fyffe will play Geraldine on Wednesday at 7 p.m. for the area title. Geraldine defeated Sylvania 72-53 in other tournament semifinal action on Monday.
