FYFFE — Ty Traffanstedt eclipsed the 1,000-point barrier Thursday night in leading the Wildcats to a 66-57 basketball victory at Fyffe.
Traffanstedt tossed in 20 points, including two 3-pointers and a 6-of-6 performance from the free-throw line. He also had five rebounds and four assists.
Will Cleere contributed 13 points, seven boards and a steal. Jonas Browder rang for 12, including a pair of treys. He also had three rebounds, three assists and two steals. Cam Gifford came away with 10 points, seven rebounds, four assists and a pair of steals. Wyatt Miller netted nine points, grabbed six boards and had a pair of blocks.
Cooper Cox led Fyffe with 19 points, including a pair of treys. Jesse Burt rang for 16 points. Isaac Slaton finished with 15 points, including three 3-pointers.
Sand Rock led 20-17 at the end of the first quarter and 36-29 at halftime. The Wildcats maintained a 50-44 edge after three quarters.
Sand Rock opens Class 2A, Area 13 tournament play against Cedar Bluff on Feb. 3 at 6 p.m. at Gaston High School.
