With postseason set to begin on Friday for some teams, the Alabama Sports Writers Association released the final high school basketball rankings of the season early Thursday morning.
Spring Garden heads into the area tournament as the top-ranked girls and boys teams in Class 1A. The Lady Panthers are 29-1, while the Panther boys are undefeated at 27-0.
Class 2A Sand Rock girls (21-6) remain at No. 3. The Wildcat boys (16-12) dropped out of the rankings but are still among those teams nominated.
Class 3A Piedmont boys (15-6) also moved down a notch to No. 7. Class 4A Cherokee County boys (11-7) also dropped out of the rankings but are still among others nominated.
Other area teams that continue to be nominated are Cedar Bluff girls (15-9) and Collinsville boys (15-7).
The final ASWA high school basketball rankings of the season are listed below, beginning with Class 7A girls.
