Fire Units remain on the scene of a structure fire at the intersection of Main Street East and Rains Avenue across the road from Blacks Tire in Rainsville near CP Auto Parts. The fire is causing traffic issues on Highway 35 and it is advised to avoid the area if possible.

Update: According to the DeKalb County EMA, one lane of 35 East has reopened around 8:00 AM.

Reports are the fire started earlier this morning, as of 7:40AM, the scene was still active, and it is best to continue to detour if possible.

The fire will be under investigation, we will continue to monitor the story, and will update as new information become available.
