The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office has been made aware of a scam where individuals are impersonating our office and demanding money to “recall warrants” or avoid arrest. This is a scam!

Here’s what you need to know:

• The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office will NEVER call, text, or email to demand payment for any reason.

• We do not ask for payments via gift cards, wire transfers, or digital payment apps.

• These scammers often use high-pressure tactics and may use fake names or spoof caller IDs to appear legitimate.

What to do if you’re contacted:

Do not send money or provide any personal information.

Hang up immediately.

Report the call to our office at 256-927-3354.
