The Centre City Council met in regular session Tuesday afternoon with planning session at 4:30 and Council Meeting at 5pm in the Council Chambers.
The Council approved a $1000 expense for the CED Mental Health for their Youth Prevention Conference on February 11th at Gadsden State Cherokee Arena.
The Master Gardener’s Plant Sale was approved for the City Park on April 12th.
An expense of $12,100 was approved for the purchase of Dumpsters from T&S Welding of Centre for the Street Department.
A quote from Richardson Athletics in the of $6410.07 was approved for the temporary outfield fencing at the softball complex.
At the request of Police Chief Blankenship, the Council approved $3000 for ammunition for the department to use for training purposes. Chief Blankenship told the Council, his department needed more training to adequately protect the citizens of Centre.
A $3000 expense was approved for the Art In The Park Project scheduled for April 5th. Chad Steed spearheading that effort.
The Council adjourned the regular meeting and went into executive session to discuss the purchase or sale of property.
The next Centre City Council will be on February 11th at 5pm in the Council Chambers.
