The latest Alabama Sports Writers Association high school basketball rankings were released early Thursday morning, and not much changed for area teams.
The Spring Garden boys (24-0) and girls (27-1) are still the top teams in Class 1A. Sand Rock’s girls (18-6) remain third and the Wildcat boys (15-10) sixth in 2A, and Cherokee County’s boys (8-6) hold steady at No. 1 in 4A.
The only area team to see movement is the Piedmont Bulldogs (13-5). They moved up two spots to No. 6 in Class 3A this week.
Cherokee County’s girls (17-3), Cedar Bluff’s girls (13-8) and Collinsville’s boys (13-6) continue to receive nominations.
