James Welton Gilliland, Sr., age 90 of Centre, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at his residence.
A funeral service will be held 2:00PM Friday, January 24, 2025 in the Perry Funeral Home Chapel, burial will follow in Cherokee Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00PM until the time of service Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Gilliland is survived by his son, James W. “Jimmy” Gilliland, Jr. (Hazel); grandchildren, Jenna Owens, Zach Hosey, Stephanie Gilliland, Dr. Anthony Rhodes (Marcia), Sonya Rhodes and Tonya Whitlock (Kevin); a host of great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will include Zach Hosey, Bobby Brown, Gregory Kirby, Dylan Owens, Stevie Gilliland and Caleb Cromer.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Gilliland; daughter, Judy Hosey and 6 siblings.
Mr. Gilliland was the son of the late Beulah Gilliland. He was a member of Tates Chapel Baptist Church.
