Mr. Judson B. Robinson

Judson B. Robinson age 82 of Hoover, Alabama went home to be with our Lord and Savior on January 18th, 2025, He died peacefully at home in the presence of his wife, children and grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at Perry Funeral Home in Centre, Alabama on Thursday,  January 23rd, 2025, from 11:30 till 12:30 with a graveside service to follow at 1:00. The graveside funeral service will be conducted at New Bethel Baptist Church in Sand Rock, Alabama.

Judson is survived by his wife, Linda G. Robinson; his sons, Joseph J. Robinson (Jessica), Jason L. Robinson (Stefanie); his grandchildren, Andrew Robinson, Ava Robinson, Michael Robinson, Austin Robinson and Anna Robinson; brother-in-law, Billy Tolleson and nephews, Steve Bearden and Scott Tolleson.

Judson was a loving husband to his devoted wife, Linda G. Robinson, for 62 years. He worked hard to support his wife and sons. In his more youthful years, he was very athletic and enjoyed playing travel basketball and softball with local church leagues, His working years were spent primarily in Atlanta, Georgia as a pipe insulator. He returned to his place of birth in Sand Rock to care for his aging parents and to continue raising his boys. His relocation also allowed him to be closer to his sisters and enjoy more frequent gatherings with his extended family. After the passing of his sisters, He and his brother-in-law, Billy Tolleson, continued to maintain a cherished relationship and frequent visits over the years.

He was super proud of his sons and always present to support the activities they participated in as youth and as grown men. He loved to watch them play basketball and was often heard refereeing from the stands. The joy and love he had for his sons was carried through to his son’s wives and his grandchildren. Before his health declined, he attended as many sporting and school events as possible.

He loved growing vegetables at their farmland in Sand Rock and sharing the fruits of his labor with friends and neighbors. He could often be found at the town hall partaking in a game of Rook and shooting the breeze with the locals. Outside of caring for his family and neighbors, he loved to go fishing off the Piers in Panama City, Florida and was well known as a collector of tools and useful gadgets that he would have collected from the Collinsville Trade Day, yard sales and estate sales.

When his boys or grandchildren would come to visit, he would say; “Whatcha know good?”. We know that God is good, and Judson is witnessing all the goodness that awaits all of God’s children in eternity. He will be missed here on earth, as we long to hear him ask that question when we meet again.

Judson was preceded in death by his parents, Edward D. Robinson (Cora-stepmother) and Myrtle J. Robinson (mother); his sisters, Wanda R. Bearden and Marlene R. Tolleson; nephew, Mike Bearden; and granddaughter, Amelia Hope Robinson.
