Judge Bell’s Courtroom
The murder trial for Eric Hooper will be going into its second week with court to resume on Tuesday morning. Presiding Circuit Judge, Shaunathan Bell, recessed the Court at noon Friday just after the prosecuting attorneys for the State completed their case. Hooper’s defense attorneys will present the defense when court resumes Tuesday.
Hooper is being tried for the death of Lachancey Williams of Cedartown, Georgia in March of 2022. Williams body was found stuffed inside a toolbox along Easom Hill Road by a work crew.
Hooper and another suspect was arrested in the case in Georgia and was extradited to Cherokee County to stand trial.
