Last Investiture In The Cherokee County Courthouse

The last class of elected officials to be Officially Sworn into office at the Cherokee County Courthouse took the Oath of Office Friday afternoon in the Courtroom.

Circuit Court Judge, Jeremy Taylor presided over the Ceremony with District Court Judge, Wes Mobley, administering the Oath to each official with their family members present for the event.

The County’s Republican Party Chairman, Scott Loyd, was invited to make a few remarks which included mentioning ‘The Clean Sweep” by Republican Candidates in the last election. So, he presented each Official with a red hand broom and dust pan.

All officials made remarks about the event and mentioned the construction of a new courthouse now underway just a short distance from the current courthouse.

A reception was held in the small courtroom on the first floor of the courthouse so family and friends could visit with them.
