Mr. Ronald “Andy” Monteith, age 55 of Centre, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at Atrium Health Floyd in Rome, GA.

Funeral services will be held at 2PM Saturday, January 18th at the Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dan Hale and Rev. David Dale officiating. Burial will follow in the Cherokee Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Amanda Monteith; Children, Sam, Renea, Clay Robert and Allen Cade Monteith; Mother, Linda Hines Payne; Step Father, Creig Payne; Father, Ronald Eldon Monteith; Sisters, Leah (Shane) Nelson and Abby (Chase) Bowles; Step Brothers, Jody (Candy) Payne, Greg (Stephanie) Payne, and Brad (Lynne) Payne; Several nieces and nephews survive.

Pallbearers will be Jody Payne, Leon Payne, Shane Nelson, Seth Griffin, Lucas Pruett, and Tyler Pruett.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Chandler Loveless, Phil Griffin, Brad Payne, Greg Payne, Co-Workers Ball Corporation, and Kevin “Doodlebug” Middleton.

Andy was a devoted husband to Amanda Pruett Monteith and father to his children. He worked at Bryant’s Machine Shop for 25 years in Collinsville, Alabama. The last four years, he worked at Ball Corporation in Rome, GA. Andy was a very talented musician, playing the bass guitar at the Edge Service at the Centre First United Methodist Church. He was a mentor to so many. He loved Jesus and his family with all his heart.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Barbara Hines and Elizabeth and Enoch Monteith; Step Mother, Debora Baker Monteith.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cherokee County DHR Needy Children and Family Fund or The Children’s Advocacy Center in Centre.
