Centre Fire Department Quarterly Report

Chief Robert Pace gave the City Council the quarterly department report Tuesday evening during the City Council meeting. Pace reported during the last quarter of 2024 his department responded to 171 calls which was 15 more than the previous quarter. 9 of those calls were structure fires, 2 were vehicle fires, worked 37 traffic accidents, 14 calls were false alarms, they conducted 3 fire investigations, completed 5 inspections, and 14 firemen completed Training Module 1 and 2. The department had 96 hours of classroom hours and the department had a total of 1195 personnel hours for the quarter.

Chief Pace told the Council, the department had a response time of 9 minutes and 46 seconds from the time the call was received until they were on the scene with an average of 6.2 personnel per incident.

The department has experienced an uptick in calls for service. In 2023 the department responded to 650 calls and that was up to 734 in 2024.
