Collinville boys hold off Sylvania 48-45 in DeKalb County Tournament

CROSSVILLE – Sam Stewart tossed in 18 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, as the Collinsville Panthers held on for a 48-45 victory over Sylvania in the DeKalb County Tournament on Tuesday.

Jake Middlebrooks scored 10 points for the Panthers (12-5). Sylas Adams added eight points and Zach Clanton finished with seven points.

Collinsville trailed 22-19 at halftime. The game was tied at 44 with 1:35 remaining in regulation before the Panthers closed out the game on a 4-1 run for the final.

Collinsville plays Plainview on Friday in the tournament semifinals at 6:30 p.m. at the DeKalb County Schools Coliseum.
