Citizens of Anniston, in response to the winter storm, the City of Anniston announces that all local roads in Anniston are now CLOSED until further notice. There is a possibility that roads will remain closed until the rain passes this evening. For your safety, we strongly urge everyone to stay off the roads. Black ice can easily form in these conditions and is extremely dangerous because it’s nearly invisible.

Warming Station and Nonprofit Resources
The public warming station operated by United Way of East Central Alabama is currently open to assist those in need. Alabama Power – Power Outage Readiness
In preparation for the winter storm, Alabama Power has begun preparing to respond to potential power outages. The company encourages residents to utilize their online power outage map to report outages. This map provides real-time updates every 10 minutes and helps crews efficiently resolve outage issues.
