GADSDEN – Despite connecting on just 12-of-34 free-throw attempts, the Sand Rock Wildcats managed to escape with a 57-54 basketball win at Coosa Christian on Thursday.

Will Cleere led the Wildcats (12-8) with 20 points, 10 rebounds and two assists. Ty Traffanstedt tallied 16 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, with five assists, three rebounds and a steal. Cam Gifford finished with 13 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block.

Sam Reeves topped the Conquerors with 17 points, including three treys. Kylen Johnson added 16 points. Eli Motes netted nine points and Jaylen Jones finished with six points.

Sand Rock is at Pleasant Valley on Monday.
