Early Morning Car Crash Injures Driver
The Cherokee County 9-1-1 Center received a call from a person just after 4 this morning telling dispatchers he had run off the road and hit a tree off county road 22. When firefighters and Law Enforcement personnel finally found the vehicle it was on county road 30 and the vehicle had crashed into an electric utility pole with power lines down.
The driver told dispatchers he had intentionally driven the vehicle into the power pole.
Cherokee County Sheriff’s deputies were on the scene and will be investigating the incident and determine if charges will be filed.
Atrium Floyd EMS responded and transported the driver to Atrium Floyd in Rome with what appeared to be non life threatening injuries and the Cherokee Electric Cooperative was dispatched to repair the damage.
