Warriors’ 7-game winning streak snapped by Sardis

CENTRE – The Cherokee County Warriors had their seven-game winning streak snapped with a 72-65 loss to Sardis on Thursday.

Reid Jacoway led the Warriors (7-3) with 21 points. Tatum Perry tallied 13 points, including three 3-pointers. Keyshawn Woods netted nine points and Jayquan Diamond finished with eight points.

Lucas Montgomery topped Sardis with 23 points. Brian Chapman came away with 14 points. Jackson Holcomb sank a pair of treys and finished with 11 points.

The Warriors held an 18-15 advantage at the end of the first quarter and a 35-34 lead at halftime before Sardis rallied to take a 56-49 lead at the end of three quarters and held on in the fourth for the final.

Cherokee County travels to Alexandria on Tuesday.
