Garden girls rebound with 81-66 basketball win over Spring Valley

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. – The Spring Garden Lady Panthers rebounded from their first loss of the basketball season Monday with an 81-66 victory over Spring Valley of West Virginia in the third-place game of the Andrew Johnson Bank Ladies Classic in Greeneville, Tenn., on Tuesday.

Ace Austin led the Lady Panthers (16-1) with 34 points, 12 rebounds, nine assists, three steals and two blocks. Maggie Jarrett contributed 15 points, all on 3-pointers, with four rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks. Olivia added Law 11 points, four boards, an assist and a steal. Avery Steward connected on three 3-pointers and had 10 points, two assists and a block. Kristen Lewis finished with eight points and two steals.

Spring Garden led at each of the quarter breaks. The Lady Panthers held a 22-14 advantage after one and built a 47-33 edge at halftime. They held a 71-53 lead after three quarters.

Spring Garden travels to Sand Rock on Friday.
