Billy Joe Thompson, age 70 of Sand Rock, passed away peacefully in his home with family on Monday, December 30, 2024.
A funeral service will be held 1:00PM Thursday, January 2, 2025 in the Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jonathan Whisenant officiating, burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:00PM till the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife of 50 years, Wanda Thompson; sons, Barry Thompson and Nicholas Thompson (Emilie); daughter, Melissa Thompson; sister, Linda Erwin, grandchildren, Clay Itson (Jenna), Catly Itson and Jaxson Thompson; special fur baby, Weezie.
Mr. Thompson was a native of Cherokee County and the son of the late Milfred and Ruby Thompson. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will include Clay Itson, Larry Prater, Tim Bell, Rick Pope, Austin Emmett and Corey Itson.
