Five Warriors score in double figures in 71-62 basketball win over J.B. Pennington

RAINBOW CITY – Tatum Perry led five Cherokee County Warriors in double figures with 16 points in a 71-62 boys basketball win at the Westbrook Christian Holiday Classic on Friday.

Keshawn Woods netted 14 points for the Warriors (5-2), who won their fifth consecutive game. Owen Jacoway added 11 points. Reid Jacoway and Jayquan Diamond both came away with 10 points. Cooper Allen finished with six points on a pair of 3-pointers.

Jesse Amos led J.B. Pennington with 23 points. Juan Bastida scored 10 points, including a pair of 3-pointers. Jacob Duckett delivered eight points. Luke Scott, J.J. Ortiz and Coy Weems each finished with seven points.

The Warriors held a 17-14 lead after one and built a 38-25 advantage at halftime. The two teams were tied at 45 after three quarters. Cherokee County closed out the game with a 26-17 run in the fourth quarter for the final.

Cherokee County is scheduled to play Ragland in the tournament on Saturday.
