Just after 5 this morning, a two-vehicle accident occurred at MidWay Storage on AL Highway 9, 3 miles north of Centre.

There was some road blockage, but no injuries reported. Centre Police and Fire Departments were responded to the scene.

Then, just after 8 a.m., the driver of an 18-wheeler attempted to navigate County Road 48 at Blue Pond, just off AL Highway 273.

They were not able to get through the first curve before getting stuck. As a result, the road was completely blocked until wreckers could arrive to pull them back into the road. No injury was reported.

Drive cautiously this Holiday Season. According to a Triple A report, more than 119 million people are expected to travel 50 miles or more during the holiday travel period.
