Mr. Billy Edward “Papa” Deavers, age 64 of Cedar Bluff, passed away Thursday, December 19th at his residence.
A funeral service will be held at 1 pm Monday, December 23rd, at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. The family will be receiving friends Sunday, December 22nd, from 4 pm until 6 pm. Bro. Dick Robbins and Bro. Jonathan Kendrick officiating.
Mr. Deavers is survived by his wife, Shirley Deavers; sons, Billy J. (Angel) Deavers, Trent (Becky) Deavers, Breydon Deavers; Daughters, Tonya (Matt) Deavers, Amber Deavers; Grandchildren, Ethan Deavers, Trevor Deavers, Zoey Deavers, Conner Deavers, Tristen Gladden, Lyla “LuLu” Deavers, Allie Cat Deavers, Skyler Collins, Madison and Sammy Bledsoe; Baby sister, Wanda (Patrick) Cosgrove; Sister, Sue Deavers; Dogs, Soxx and Toby; Numerous friends.
Billy was a native of Marietta, Georgia. He owned Billy’s Automotive there and retired after 30 years in 2013. Mr. Deavers then took residence in Cedar Bluff, Alabama, where he took on the role of being full-time Papa. He devoted his life to his wife, children, and grandchildren. Billy was a non-denominational follower of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sammy Deavers and Doris Hunter Deavers.
Pallbearers include Patrick Cosgrove, Breydon Deavers, Matthew Gladden, James Campbell, Ethan Deavers, Conner Deavers; Honorary Pallbearer, Steven Farrell.
