The Gadsden City Council has approved a resolution authorizing a site
preparation agreement for the long-awaited Coosa Harbor development project.
The agreement, forged between the City of Gadsden and Coosa Harbor, LLC, outlines the
company’s commitment to designing, developing, and constructing the project in alignment
with the presented Development Plan.
The project will bring significant revitalization to the Coosa River waterfront, marking the
beginning of a transformative commercial development on city-owned property that has
remained undeveloped for more than 20 years.
Patrick Lawler, the developer behind Coosa Harbor, will lead the charge in creating this highly
anticipated addition to the Gadsden skyline, which promises to tap into the city’s riverfront
potential and generate valuable tax revenue through commercial development.
“This isn’t a pie-in-the-sky idea. This is what is happening,” said Gadsden Mayor Craig Ford,
who expressed his enthusiasm for the project. “The Coosa Harbor development is a game-
changer for Gadsden, and it will open new doors for economic growth and community
development along the Coosa River. This is a true milestone in our city’s progress.”

Gadsden is the fastest-growing city in Etowah County, and this monumental project makes it
an attractive destination for investors, developers, and business owners. Once the project is
completed, it will also be an important resource for local residents, new residents, and
tourists coming to enjoy the riverfront.
The Coosa Harbor project will further enhance Gadsden’s growth trajectory and position the
city as a more vibrant, expanding hub in the region.
“I want to thank the City Council for their unwavering support and for recognizing the long-
term potential of this project,” Ford continued. “Without their approval and dedication, none
of this would be possible.
