The Class 4A Region 6 football coaches recently selected their all-region football teams. Cherokee County High School led the selections. Senior running back/defensive lineman Tae Diamond was chosen as the Player of the Year. Senior running back/linebacker Tristan Brown was selected the Defensive Player of the Year. Warrior head coach Jacob Kelley was named Coach of the Year.
In all, the state runner-up Warriors (13-2) earned 12 selections, including nine on the first team (5 offense, 4 defense) and three on the second-team defense.
Warriors selected to the first-team offense are running back Keyshawn Woods, wide receiver Ben Frampton, linemen Asa Holbert and Landon Ransum, and tight end Ben Moseley.
The four Warrior first-team defensive selections are linemen Caleb Harbour and Dylan Duncan, linebacker Carson Chesnut, and athlete Keshawn Thomas.
Linebacker Tyson Wood, defensive back Tripp Davis, and athlete Jaquan Diamond were chosen on the second-team defense.
The Warriors also had seven honorable mention players in offensive lineman James Hunter, defensive backs Luke Young and Cooper Allen, quarterback Adam Griffith, offensive linemen Gavin Brown and Dawson Bartlett, and athlete Case Hill.
