HEFLIN – Jayquan Diamond delivered a game-high 22 points to lead the Cherokee County Warriors to a 74-64 area basketball victory at Cleburne County on Tuesday.
Reid Jacoway tossed in 16 points for the Warriors (2-2). Tatum Perry connected on a pair of 3-pointers and had 14 points. Keyshawn Woods and Nolan Neyman finished with nine and seven points respectively.
Matthew Wilson led five Tigers in double figures with 15 points. Alijah Ware added 13 points. Koby Hale came away with 11 points. Noah Turley and Cavin Bates both finished with 10 points.
Cleburne County held a 17-15 advantage at the end of the first quarter, but the Warriors took a 35-29 edge at halftime. The Warriors led 52-50 at the end of three quarters.
Cherokee County travels to White Plains on Thursday before hosting the Alabama ONE Cherokee Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
