During the Monday evening Collinsville City Council Meeting, Mayor Johnny Traffanstedt addressed the Council with the Mayor’s Report. He discussed he has been working on the new garbage truck situation. The Council approved the freight liner garbage truck with three eye cameras and GPS from Ingram Equipment Company for the price of $322,185. The mayor informed the Council this will be a big upgrade. It will take three months to have it built.
Next on the agenda, City Clerk Jill Tidmore told the Council that Park it Market gave away 2500 pounds of food.
The Council accepted a proclamation for the Month of January for Human Trafficking.
Mayor Traffanstedt then called on Police Chief Andy Brown. Brown informed the Council they have hired a new Police Officer and his name is Jonathon Haney. Chief Brown also asked the Council if they would consider swapping out some police trucks that still have value. The Council told him they will need more information.
Fire Chief David Bowen told the Council they sold 120 Boston Butts for their fundraiser. After a lengthy discussion about radios for the Fire Department, the Council approved to buy two radios for the Collinsville Fire Department.
The Council unanimously approved an Alcohol License for La Marina 2 Mexican Restaurant, and the date to be sworn in by Probate Judge Ronnie Osborn is November 3, 2025 at 5:00PM.
The next Collinsville City Council Meeting will be on January 6.
