City of Piedmont Council Meeting

During the Tuesday evening City Work Session, Mayor Bill Baker brought up the two auditors working with the City of Piedmont. They informed the Council Piedmont had a very good audit and they are in good shape for the upcoming 2025 year.

After the Work Session, the Regular meeting began with Mayor Baker informing the Council the operational expenses for the past week were $434,506.88, which included one week of payroll. The bills were approved for payment.

The Council adopted unanimously Resolution 2024-17, which is the 2025 Holiday Schedule.

Police Chief Nathan Johnson gave the Police Report for November. The Piedmont Police Department had a total of 27 arrests and 37 Misdemeanor charges and 4 Felony charges. He also stated there were 15 Abatement cases.

Fire Chief Todd Kirkland gave the Fire Report for November. There were 41 incidents.

City Clerk Carl Hinton informed the Council the paving is almost done in the City. There have been 15 streets paved. Hinton also wished everyone a very happy Holiday Season

In Mayor’s comments, Baker reminded the Council about the Cold Plunge on January 7 at the Aquatic Center. He also wished everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

The next City of Piedmont Council Meeting will be on January 7.
