SPRING GARDEN – North Sand Mountain gave the Spring Garden Lady Panthers their toughest basketball game this season to date on Tuesday night, but the Lady Panthers still managed to squeak by by the final of 61-58.
Ace Austin led the Lady Panthers (7-0) with 29 points, 15 rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocks. Olivia Law contributed 17 points, five rebounds and a block. Kristen Lewis connected on a pair of 3-pointers and finished with 10 points, two rebounds, two steals and an assist.
North Sand Mountain built a 22-8 first-quarter lead before Spring Garden rallied in the second with a 16-6 run to trim its deficit to 28-24 at halftime. The Lady Panthers surged out ahead 41-39 after three quarters and held on in the fourth for the final.
Spring Garden travels to Oxford on Friday.
