Gadsden, AL – The City of Gadsden is proud to announce that it has been awarded a $114,000 grant from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to purchase a state-of-the-art mobile command center.
The mobile command center will be equipped with cutting-edge communications technology and equipment, allowing city officials, first responders, and emergency management teams to operate efficiently during disasters or critical events.
The command trailer will be fully operational during natural disasters, public safety emergencies, and large public gatherings, providing a vital mobile hub for coordinating responses and managing resources.
Mayor Craig Ford said, “This grant is critical in enhancing our ability to respond to emergencies swiftly and effectively. The mobile command center will give our first responders and emergency management teams the tools they need to protect our citizens, ensure timely communications, and help maintain order in times of crisis.”
The mobile command center is expected to be operational by mid-2025 and will serve as a valuable asset in both routine operations and times of heightened public safety concerns.
