SROs and School Administrators Work with K-9s from Multiple Law Enforcement Agencies

On Monday, School Resource Officers and school administrators worked with K-9s from Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, as well as Etowah County, DeKalb County, Attalla Police, and Fort Payne Police, to conduct searches of school campuses across Cherokee County.

These searches are crucial to keeping our schools drug free, ultimately fostering a safe environment for students to learn and faculty to work.

“We are extremely thankful for the cooperation from our surrounding agencies,” said Sheriff Jeff Shaver. “Maintaining safe schools has always been a priority for this office, and we will continue to work with our schools to keep them safe and drug free.”

If you know of drug activity on or around school campuses, you are urged to contact the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office or the School Resource Officer at the school campus.
