Mrs. Linda Newton

Mrs. Linda Newton, 81 of Cedar Bluff, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2024 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at the Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Unity Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends from 9 am until the hour of service at the funeral home. Bro. Jonathan Kendrick and Bro. Bill Crane will be officiating the service.

Survivors include her sons, Tony (Laura) Crane and Ricky (Mary) Crane; five Grandchildren, Shea (Kevin) Stiefel, Jonathan (Kim) Kendrick, Tyler (Megan) Crane, Caleb (Kara) Crane, and Nate Crane; also – six Great-Grandchildren, Korey (Kenzey) Stiefel, Rylan Kendrick, Cannon, Cason, and Calvin Crane, and Paxton Beau Crane; Great-Grandson Knox Stiefel; Brothers, Leon (Evon) Lance, Ruben (Evelyn) Lance, and David (Viola) Lance; Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Mrs. Newton was a native of Silver Creek, Georgia, the daughter of the late Kimsey and Martha Swinford Lance.  She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ernest Crane, Jr. and Paul Reeves Newton, daughter Tammy Elizabeth Kendrick and brothers Donald (Estell) Lance and Robert (Jean) Lance.

Mrs. Newton was a Godly woman, having spent her entire life dedicated to her family and serving children and youth around the area. She loved to garden and enjoyed making special floral arrangements. Her love of old gospel music hymns stretched across her entire life.

Pallbearers include family and friends.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cherokee County Health and Rehabilitation Center’s Memory Care Unit.

A special thank you to her special friend and caregiver, Angie McMullen, Chaplain Lo Lolita, and Nurse Melissa with Enhabit Hospice.
