One person is dead in a crash that occurred on the connector just west of Highway 411 in North Georgia, on Friday morning.

According to Rome Police – “At approximately 6:42am Friday (November 8th, 2024) emergency responders were called to an accident on the East Rome Bypass (Georgia Loop 1) just west of Wilbanks Road. 

According to a preliminary investigation – a 2011 Nissan Armada, driven by Tiffany Nicole Smith, age 40 of Rome – crossed over the median, and it struck a 2010 Ford F-150 – being driven by Timothy Dewayne Reynolds, age 45 of Silver Creek.   The Nissan Armada was also occupied by two juveniles.

Occupants from both of the vehicles – were transported to local hospitals for treatment, and the driver of the Armada, was pronounced dead at the scene; the investigation regarding the incident is being conducted by the Rome Police Department’s Accident Investigation Team (AIT).”
