Cherokee County Animal Control “Vaccine and Microchip Clinic” / Saturday (October 26th) at the Cedar Bluff Fire Department

A special Vaccine and Microchip Clinic, will take place Saturday (October 26th) from 8:00 until 11:00am at the Cedar Bluff Fire Department – 4861 Main Street.

The FIRST 100 pets will be seen FREE of CHARGE – and, all you have to do (it’s very simple) is be a resident of Cherokee County and simply provide proof of residency.

Cherokee County Animal Control Officer – Dustin Dutton:

You may be quite surprised to learn that every year four-to-five hundred cases of rabies are reported in domesticated pets – such as dogs, cats and ferrets – and rabies although 100% deadly is 100% preventable through  proper vaccination.

Last year in Alabama, there were 38 confirmed cases, among wildlife and domesticated animals, and the number is already over 20 cases this year (2024).

Microchips are a highly effective and permanent way to identify your pet and figures show that “chipped” pets, are 52% more likely to be reunited with their owners – that – according to the American Veterinary Medical Association.

Saturday’s Special Event is brought to you, in part by, Nationwide Animal Welfare Organizations, based out of (Kanab) Utah, and they’re headed up by Southeast Senior Strategist Lisa Barrett and the organization has thus far awarded $10,000 toward TNR and Vaccine/CHIP Clinics.

Again, that’s THIS Saturday (October 26th) between 8:00 and 11:00am at the Cedar Bluff Fire Department.
