Montgomery, AL- The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) will deploy a fresh 15-person crew to Florida on Saturday to continue the important work of clearing roadways following Hurricanes Milton and Helene, Governor Kay Ivey announced Friday.

The crew will travel to the Manatee Operations Center in Bradenton, where they will join the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) at a staging area and be assigned to affected areas in need of debris removal.

An 18-person crew from ALDOT is set to return home Saturday after spending the past week assisting with hurricane relief efforts. The crew worked in partnership with FDOT to clear roadside debris from state routes in areas south of Tampa, helping to restore access to critical roadways and support local recovery operations.

The new crew’s deployment is expected to last up to 10 days, though ALDOT remains ready to send additional personnel should further assistance be required.
