Fire Destroys Vacant Structure in Floyd County, Georgia

The cause of the recent fire that destroyed a vacant structure – located in West Rome – is continuing; firefighters were on the scene of that blaze at the intersection of Burnett Ferry Road and Payne Road Sunday night into Monday morning.

The structure was the former home of the Poison Ivy pool hall, which has been closed for many years.

There were reports of homeless hanging out around the vacant building, but those reports have not been confirmed.

We’ll have more information as it becomes available.
