The 4th annual Alabama Sheriff’s Foundation Networking and Education Conference was held recently and the training was at the FEMA Building in the Town of Leesburg. Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver welcomed Sheriffs – and Members of their Command Staff from around 30 counties across Alabama.
The meeting included updates from the Alabama Sheriff’s Association on both current issues and legislative issues.
District Attorney Summer Summerford briefed all the attendees on new laws and also gave a legal update. The keynote speaker, Michael Laidler, delivered critical information on many different topics, such as wellness, leadership, recruitment and retention.
The information provided was very informative – and the event allowed Alabama Sheriffs to renew and also to strengthen their partnerships; the partnerships allow officers to work better together and in solving crimes – and also addressing issues in their home counties.
