Mr. Charlie E. Morgan, Jr.

Mr. Charlie Eugene Morgan Jr. (Papa Charlie), born November 13, 1940 in Cherokee County, AL, passed away on September 4, 2024, 5:00 in the evening at his residence in Argo, AL. He was preceded in death by his parents Charlie Eugene Morgan Sr.

and Mary Frances Pentecost Morgan, his three sisters Helen Rose Shaw, Margaret Ethel Hollis, and Mary Larese Shortnacy, his son Timothy Dowell Morgan, and his grandson Josh Langham. Charlie is survived by one brother, Michael Morgan, and f our sons Donnie Morgan, Kevin Morgan (Connie), Dennis Morgan, and Brian Morgan, his two daughters Sharon Thompson (Kirk), and Melanie Morgan , his grandchildren Kelsey Saranthas (Jerry), Bonnie Thompson, Roni Morgan, Brayden Morgan, Kelden Morgan, Kalaya Fletcher, Logan M organ, and Madison Morgan, and his great grandchildren Mordecai Thompson, Brayson Morgan, Naomi Fletcher, Lucas Saranthas, and Magnolia Morgan. He is also survived by a great many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

Charlie was a truck driver, most of his life, but also worked as an auto mechanic in Gadsden. He was an avid fan of racing and enjoyed camping and fishing. He loved listening to the old country, gospel, and rock and roll music from his younger years, and he valued the old-fashioned ways of life .

He was a Christian, accepting Jesus as his savior at the age of 65, and was baptized in the creek at Homestead Hollow in Springville, Alabama. He was stubborn with a quick wit, and he loved his family and friends so deeply, always making sure they stayed safe by reminding them “Rubber side down, shiny side up.” He will be missed immensely. To know him was t o love him!

A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor on Oct. 12th @ 3:00 in the afternoon @ The Church at Bradford Road in Springville, AL.
