Extended Family to Offer EFK Program Leader Training

Press Release – Extended Family Partners with Etowah County Board of
Education to Offer EFK Program Leader Training in Gadsden

Often times adults work with children facing challenging situations.  If you are tired of seeing kids suffer and would like to offer new tools for coping with family incarceration, stress, anger, and more, enroll now for our upcoming Extended Family for Kids Program Leader Training hosted by the Etowah County Board of Education.

“Extended Family for Kids_ is an evidence-based, nine lesson Curriculum for students in grades K-12 with any loved one – who currently is OR has been incarcerated.”   This Curriculum is also effective for at-risk students facing any family disruption, including the death of a loved one, parents’ divorce, family involvement with Child Protective Services, etc.

EFK teaches students how to make healthy lifestyle choices – so they can improve their quality of life emotionally, mentally, and physically.

EFK Lessons build self-esteem, they also ease the feelings of shame, ease isolation, decrease stress, address anger issues and they help strengthen communication skills.

In this Training you’ll experience all nine Lessons of Extended Family for Kids, hands on; with the EFK Curriculum Guide provided in the Training you will be fully prepared to start your own EFK Program Group!

EFK Program Leader Training will be held at the Etowah County Board of Education Training Room on Wednesday, November 6th, from 8:00am – 3:00pm.

Breakfast and lunch are included in the cost of $50 per person.  Limited space is available.

To register, email laure@extendedfamilyhelp.org the message, “I want to register for EFK Training, November 6th, in Gadsden.”  Registration fee is payable by check or online through the link
