A man was arrested Monday morning, after a robbery took place inside a Gadsden Walmart parking lot.
That incident happened on Meighan Boulevard, where 39 year old Carlos Caez was arrested on First Degree Theft of Property charges.
Police said that Walmart Loss Prevention immediately aided officers and detectives from the Criminal Investigative Division – leading to the quick identification of a suspect and the suspect’s vehicle.
Police also stated that the suspect’s vehicle was located at a residence on Hindsdale Avenue.
The Gadsden Street Crimes Unit then moved in to apprehend the suspect but during that attempt, police said that he barricaded himself inside the residence; the Etowah County Joint Special Operations Group responded to assist and help to resolve that situation – and Caez was then taken into custody and transported to jail.
No injuries were reported.
