Ms. Shirley Ann McGatha Johnson, 83 of Centre, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at Cherokee County Health & Rehab.

A funeral service will be held 2:00PM Saturday, October 5, 2024 in the Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Gail Sharpe officiating, burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:00PM until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.   Pallbearers will include her grandsons.

Ms. Johnson is survived by her sons, George Johnson (Jackie), Larry Johnson (Pam), Jackie Johnson (Joe) and Danny Johnson; daughter, Glenda (Eugene) Hooper; sister, Martha “Marty Maushet; 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; special friends, Sheena Atkins and David Pitts. She is preceded in death by her husband, Troy Johnson; daughter, Sheila Freeman, grandson, Junior Hooper; 3 brothers and 1 sister.

Ms. Johnson was a native of Cherokee County and the daughter of the late William and Lula Carolyn McGatha.  She was a member of Lakeview Congregational Holiness Church.
